It’s been a busy month at Pre-school, with World Book Day, Mothers’ Day and Tadpoles!
Here’s a round up of what we’ve been up to so far!
March 1st
The children have had great fun this week celebrating World Book Day, they have loved the different activities focused on some of their favourite stories, from measuring dinosaur bones to creating all sorts of crafty monsters! Those who came in in their pyjamas yesterday looked very snuggly indeed and it was lovely to see them all sharing in making play dough party food for a Tiger who might come to Tea.

We had a lovely week filled with sweet Mother’s Day based activities at Pre-school. We hope our Mums enjoyed some of the fetching portraits that have been sent home, together with handprint art of all kinds, cards and paper flowers. The children have been so delightful this week, they have really enjoyed being together and being back as part of a larger group as more children have returned to Pre-school – there was a particularly touching moment on Thursday when they came together to ask to be read more stories and sat as a group to listen.
March 15th
We have had some fantastic visitors this week to Pre-school – a bowl full of tadpoles! The children were fascinated to see the tadpoles in real life rather than just in books and on our old favourite jigsaw puzzle showing the amphibian life cycle. They’ve spent a lot of time out of doors as the weather has been so lovely.
March 22nd
This week we had some very special visitors at Preschool; two beautiful calves, bouncy springy lambs, sweet piglets, quacking ducks and even a very wiggly puppy all came along to help the children enjoy farm week. Thank you so much to the very kind farming families who went to so much effort to make a special morning that all the children will remember for a long time.
Lots of other farm based activities have taken place, with fluffy sheep and painted pigs, chicks made of shapes and lots of sneaky school preparation activities counting animals and sounding out their names.
